Neumann’s U87 Campaign Offers Choice of Prizes

In response to numerous requests by participants, Neumann has decided to give the winner of the ‘U87 and You’ campaign celebrating the 40th anniversary of the legendary U87 microphone the chance to choose between two prizes. The winner can choose either a trip to Neumann Berlin (including a tour of the company, sightseeing, travel costs and hotel accommodations) or a U87 Anniversary Set, with a value of almost $4,400.

The “U87 and You” campaign will continue until December 31, 2007. Any video message on the topic “My Associations with the U87” can be submitted.

The first-place winner will be selected by a draw from among the 87 best entries. Entries can range from a cell phone video with a short statement, to excerpts from archival material, to a report on a vocal recording experience using a U87.

“In selecting the 87 best entries, priority will be given to the idea and the personal relationship to the U87, rather than to the technical perfection of the video or the sophistication of the production,” says Wolfgang Fraissinet, president, marketing/sales of Neumann Berlin.

The company states, “With a little luck, participants may soon find their videos presented worldwide on the Neumann Website.” Clicking on the U87 banner on the Neumann homepage will reveal a selection of creative examples in the video archive.

Interested participants are invited to send a video with a maximum length of 30 seconds via e-mail or cell phone MMS to [email protected] by December 31, 2007.
