Vintage King Audio, a leading dealer of high-end new and vintage recording equipment, announces the release of the Neve 1073LB ($995 MSRP) 500 Series mono mic preamp module, from AMS Neve. Upon launching at the 2010 AES Convention (November 5-7, in San Francisco’s Moscone Center), the Neve 1073LB will be available in the U.S. exclusively through Vintage King Audio and select distributors worldwide.
Since its initial release 40 years ago, the original Neve 1073 module mic pre has been a top choice among numerous engineers and producers. AMS-Neve states that it designed the 1073LB to re-create the 1073’s big, punchy sound and make it available in API’s Lunchbox format.
Crafted in England by Neve engineers, the 1073LB is said to retain the sonic characteristics of its original predecessor by using the same architecture, matching components and original hand-wound transformers. With new features like a fine Trim control, switchable microphone input impedance, signal presence LED, intelligent protected switching of front combi-XLR input connector and Neve’s Audio Processing Insert design, the new 1073LB expands upon the original Class-A design.
The Neve 1073LB will be available for demonstrations in Vintage King’s AES booth #617.
