David Claringbold has been appointed Euphonix European Sales Manager and will take responsibility for all Euphonix sales in continental Europe.
Claringbold makes the move to Euphonix after an 11-year stint as Technical Operations Manager of the Sydney Opera House, being responsible for implementing the recent major digital audio and video infrastructure changes to the Sydney Opera House facilities. These upgrades included the installation of three Euphonix System 5s and a Euphonix Max Air.
The move to Euphonix is a natural progression for Claringbold. He states that: “I have been working closely with Euphonix for several years now on the Sydney Opera House project, and have formed a close relationship with the company and staff and connect with their vision. When this opportunity came, it was too good to miss and it also fits in with my wish to work more on an International level.”
Executive vice president of worldwide sales for Euphonix, Russell Waite, is delighted that David has accepted the position. “I have been managing the European office for three years, and with my recent move to Palo Alto headquarters to head worldwide sales, I needed a strong knowledgeable industry veteran to take over the continental European sales management position. David is the perfect fit. He knows Euphonix, both on the technical level and the personal level. He has seen us from the point of view of a client, which will be very helpful for him in the future as he will be able to closely relate to our own clients in Europe.”
David Claringbold started his career as a Recording Engineer at Sony Music Studios in Sydney and then, after 10 years of freelance engineering and producing, he joined the Sydney Opera House in 1994 as the Technical Operations Manager. David will be based out of the Euphonix Europe office in London.
