The Essential Studio Suite plug-in bundle from Nomad Factory comprises nine plug-ins, including multiband compressor, Essential channel, Essential graphic EQ, Essential compressor, Essential gate expander, multiband loudness maximizer, loudness maximizer, tube/tape warmer and retro-vox. The bundle features high-quality processing using a double-precision floating point; up to 192kHz sample rates supported; the ability to automate any control through compatible RTAS, HTDM, VST and AudioUnits-host applications; and a set of factory presets.
The multiband compressor offers 3-band compression, brickwall limiting and curve mode EQ within an easy-to-use interface. Essential Channel delivers 3-band parametric EQ, high- and low-shelf filters, compressor, de-esser, noise gate and a brickwall Limiter. The Essential graphic EQ brings 15 frequency bands, adjustable bandwidth and brickwall limiter for precise control over each audio channel.
The Essential compressor provides intuitive control over the threshold, ratio, attack, release and make-up gain, and can be used for both vocal and instrument tracks. The fully adjustable Essential gate/expander provides control of threshold, attack, hold, release and range.
The Multiband Loudness Maximizer limiter delivers three frequency bands of look-ahead limiting and brickwall limiting to control and maximize the levels of a mix. The Loudness Maximizer peak limiter allows look-ahead limiting and brickwall limiting that can be used on mono or stereo channels.
Users can add analog warmth to tracks with Tube/Tape Warmer, which gives audio the sounds of tube circuitry and analog tape saturation. Turn up the Drive control for extra bite, add warmth to hear those tubes and blend the sounds of the analog tape and tube warmth.
Finally, Retro-Vox—specifically for vocal tracks—provides numerous effects and processing functions, including gate, compressor, tone controls, high/lowpass filters, tape simulation and midrange “phone voice.”
