Making its debut at this year's Summer NAMM convention, Ableton Live 4 is now available for purchase through local dealers and at Ableton’s Webshop at www.ableton.com.
Live 4 now extends real time music composition to MIDI sequencing, Virtual Instrument hosting, and drag-and-drop sampling. A free demo version of Live 4, along with a Live 4 tour and tutorial movies can be found at www.ableton.com.
Ableton Live 4 retails for 499 EUR/US$. Upgrades from any full version of Live (1, 2 or 3) to Live 4 are 119 EUR/US$ (download only) or 149 EUR/US$ (boxed version).
Customers who purchased Live 3, or an upgrade to Live 3, after May 15th, 2004 are eligible for a discounted upgrade to Live 4 for only 49 EUR/US$ (download only) or 79 EUR/US$ (boxed version).
Ableton will also host a Live 4 release party on Wednesday, July 28 at Boulevard (199 Bowery at Spring St.) in New York City. Ableton endorsee Steve Stall will take Live 4 for a test drive, headlining the evening with original techno music. The event starts at 9 p.m. and is free of charge. Sam Ash Music will also host Live 4 Demos in New York, Chicago and Hollywood, Calif.
