Clavia is now shipping the Nord Modular G2 software upgrade, v1.20. The update offers 10 more modules, including metallic noise oscillator and noise oscillator, FM operator and DX router, a new group of modules named Random. Pitch shifter and scratch have been added, along with MIDI Control Automate and Mac OS X support.
The upgrade supports the new Nord Modular G2X (pictured), which is now finalized and scheduled to ship in August 2004. Features include a five-octave, semi-weighted keyboard, three modulation wheels with built in LEDs, top panel mounted XLR microphone input and a built-in voice expansion that gives the G2X nearly twice the processing power as the G2 and Engine models. The G2X will be shipped with a gooseneck microphone.
G2 OS/Editor v1.20 is available free of charge when downloaded at www.clavia.se. The G2X will carry a price tag of $3,500.
