Ozzfest 2006 Features Electro-Voice Endorsers

Zakk Wylde at Ozzfest 2006

The 26-city Ozzfest 2006 tour took place from June 29 through August 13, 2006, and featured Electro-Voice endorsers Zakk Wylde (pictured), Nick Catanese (Black Label Society), Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne’s bass player) and Hatebreed, all of whom relied on EV’s wired and wireless microphones, as well as the EVM-12L Black Label—the Zakk Wylde signature guitar loudspeaker.

EV’s public relations/artist relations manager, James Edlund, remarked, “Although we have a long history of involvement with major recording artists, this year represented a huge step for us with endorser involvement on summer tours of this magnitude. Without a doubt, these are the exemplars of today’s metal. So why do they use EV? Because EV gear withstands the rigors of the road and it sounds great! We appreciate their loyalty to our products by hoisting the EV flag!”

“I’ve never blown out an EV speaker,” adds Wylde. “Seriously, I’ve never had any problems. The EVM-12L’s make the Marshalls sound better. You’ve got your EL85s, your Marshall heads, plexis or whatever; it’s a great combination. Gibson Les Paul and Marshall, Marshall and EV—the perfect combination.”
