P&E Wing Presents Grammy SoundTable on October 10

The Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy will present the 21st annual Grammy SoundTables in conjunction with the AES Convention in New York City on Saturday, October 10, 2009, from 2:30 p.m.–4 p.m. Entitled “MWA!—Mixing With Attitude,” this event will provide a close-up look at how some top producers and engineers create mixes that stand out from the pack with the power and personality to please the artist, producer and record label, and also have excellent sound quality at home, in the car, on the radio and as an MP3 file.

Event panelists include producer/engineer Chuck Ainlay, mixer Serban Ghenea, engineer/mixer Chris Lord-Alge, engineer/mixer Tony Maserati, and writer/producer Nile Rodgers.

Translating the excitement from a recording session to its final mix is a high-pressure art form. Members of this Grammy-winning panel work with both attitude and craft to create tracks that rise above the rest. At this special event they will share their tips, tricks, anecdotes and secrets for success.
