UK-based PMC, which manufactures professional monitors and audiophile speaker systems, recently announced the awards that it has received for 2009.
PMC’s FB1i speaker picked up the award for Best Floor-Standing Speaker Over £1,000 at the recent AV Review awards, held at the AV Review offices in Islington, North London. David Oliver, editor of AV Review, presented the award to PMC’s founder Peter Thomas. Critics praised the FB1i ‘s ability to handle high-energy material with ease and superb definition. This award follows the FB1i’s win in the AV Review group test for Best Floor-Standing Speaker earlier this year. Mark Wilson of AV Review comments, “If there is a product to beat it on sound quality, bring it on! In the meantime, it seems quite in order to award it top points, something rarely seen.”
A PMC surround system comprising EB1i, TB2i and a CB6i three-way center channel won Best Performance of the Year at the Prime AV awards in Taiwan. Lastly, Professional Audio Magazine (Germany) presented PMC with the 2008 Professional Audio Magazine Editors Choice Award for the DB1S-A and TLE1S, citing “very fine resolution and a balanced analytic sound down to the deepest bass.”
