Professional Audio Design (PAD) has announced that it will hold a raffle at AES 2005 (Booth #660) for three studio enhancement prizes. The prizes include, from first to third prize: a two-day studio tune-up (value $3,500); a custom-built DI-Pre 2-channel Neve Direct Box (value $1,995); and a $1,000 gift certificate for PAD service. Attendees can enter to win one of the prizes by filling out an entry card at PAD’s booth during AES. The drawing will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2005, at PAD’s booth.
“AES is an opportunity to highlight that PAD provides quality studio enhancement services along with state-of-the-art gear,” states Dave Malekpour, president of PAD. “Since our inception, we’ve fostered a service-oriented approach, paying strict attention to the underlying elements of creating a successful studio, and this raffle gives attendees a chance to significantly upgrade their studio’s performance.”
For the two-day studio tune up, PAD will send two qualified service technicians to the winner’s location for a service visit. The technicians will evaluate the studio, perform basic maintenance, make recommendations and provide an estimate before any additional services are performed.
The PAD Custom Shop Vintage Neve DI-Pre is a 2-channel mic preamp-DI. Custom-built using original vintage Neve components, the DI-pre features mic and instrument level input, line out and instrument thru. Original Neve components include B283 cards and output transformer. The DI uses a Jensen transformer, while a Carnhill Neve–style transformer is used for the mic pre. Other features include 48V Phantom Power, -10db pad, phase reverse, rotary output fader and external power supply.
The gift certificate provides the winner $1,000 worth of credit for bench service from the PAD Tech Shop, and covers the cost of labor to be used for services such as upgrades, repairs and refurbishments.
