Rapco International and Horizon Music Merge Into One Company

Rapco International and Horizon Music Inc. have merged to form The RapcoHorizon Company, located in Jackson, Mo. Both companies have manufactured and supplied audio interfacing products to the music and sound installation industries for more than 25 years.

The merger will combine resources and operations, integrating all corporate counterpart divisions: Major Custom Cable, which services the fiber-optic and data telecom industries; Horizon Wire & Cable, the company’s wire extrusion facility; N.A.F.T.A. Manufacturing, the company’s manufacturing plants in Mexico; Rapco Professional, which services the Canadian market; and Oculus Designs, servicing the home theater and custom home installation markets. The new company states that is positioning itself as a premier supplier of custom metal interfacing products and snakes.

The RapcoHorizon Company will exhibit at Winter NAMM 2007 in Hall C, Booth #4558, and introduce its new Dominator brand of high-end guitar, microphone and speaker cables. The Dominator line includes a series of guitar cables that are manufactured using four different types of Dominator wire, and can include additional components inside each of the connectors that will actually “tune” the output of the guitar to the input of an amplifier or effects pedal.

Dominator microphone cables will be offered using either black Neutrik connectors with gold contacts or standard nickel connectors and contacts, combined with several proprietary RapcoHorizon Company wires.

The Dominator speaker cable line features several types of heavy gauge wire, including 14-, 12- and 10-gauge configurations, with round commercial jackets, and pure copper conductors. The speaker cables are available in a variety of connector combinations. Also available is the SilverFlex Series in 12- and 10-gauge sizes with bare annealed copper conductors, which have been silver-plated and “mega-stranded” for enhanced performance and lower capacitance.
