On Saturday, June 23, 2012, The Recording Academy Los Angeles Chapter produced Grammy FutureNow, a day-long conference held at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, Calif.
As part of the conference, Grammy Award–winning engineer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Audioslave, Linkin Park, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers) led a presentation titled “Lost in Translation,” which guided attendees through an auditory experience examining the difference between an artist’s mastered track and different consumer formats including vinyl, CD, MP3, AAC and streaming.
