Sennheiser Contributes Evolution Series Microphones to Summerfest

Sennheiser provided Evolution Series wired microphones to 33 featured emerging artists who performed at the annual Summerfest music festival on the shore of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee. For the first time, Sennheiser also contributed 22 Evolution Series e935 wired vocal microphones to the 11 prize packages presented to the best emerging band as voted by the audience each night.

Summerfest presents live performances on 13 stages for 12 hours a day over a period of 11 days. Established in 1968, the extravaganza of music, food, shopping and other activities regularly draws nearly one million people to its 75-acre permanent site.

David Silbaugh, responsible for entertainment development at Summerfest, was pleased to have a full complement of Sennheiser evolution series microphones available for the emerging artists for the second year running, and thrilled that some of the bands were able to take some home with them. “Every day, the three bands that appeared in the emerging artists series that day were eligible to win a prize package based on text votes from the audience,” Silbaugh explains. “There were two evolution e935 microphones as part of each prize package.”
