At NAB 2006 (booth #1822), Sennheiser will introduce the A5000 CP ($1,000) passive antenna for both transmitting and receiving RF signals throughout the UHF spectrum. The A5000 CP’s wideband design (450 to 960 MHz) allows it to accommodate antenna distribution systems for either wireless monitors or wireless microphones across multiple frequency ranges for flexibility when designing complicated RF systems.
Actual installations have demonstrated that the circular polarization minimizes variations in signal strength and almost completely eliminates multi-path problems. The A5000 CP is designed as a front-end for wireless systems using multiple parts of the UHF spectrum, offering a lobe-less polar pattern as well as wideband functionality.
Due to its three-dimensional radiation pattern, the antenna can be mounted above the talent or venue, as well as oriented with the antenna element facing down. With the main lobe (maximum gain) of the antenna pointing downwards, the energy is focused toward the desired source, resulting in greatly reduced sensitivity for potentially interfering signals.
The unit can be stand- or wall-mounted.
