Shure Incorporated announced that Avinash (Avi) Vaidya (pictured) has joined the company as vice president of product development and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, Vaidya will lead Shure’s product development division and have full responsibility for all engineering and configuration management functions. Vaidya also will provide strategic counsel as a member of Shure’s executive staff.
“In his more than 25 years of engineering management experience, Avi has been involved in the development and related processes of bringing new products to the market, technology research, strategic planning, talent and leadership development, and building successful engineering organizations for large and mid-sized companies,” says Sandy LaMantia, Shure’s president and CEO. “I feel that he is an ideal fit for this very important position and for the future success of Shure Incorporated.”
Previously, Vaidya was vice president of global business development at Emerson Network Power. Prior to that, he spent more than six years at Charles Industries as VP of engineering/CTO and 14 years at AT&T and Bell Laboratories, where he held various engineering management positions. He holds nine U.S. patents, has published numerous technical papers and has received several awards for technical excellence.
Vaidya has a master’s degree in Engineering Electronics from the Netherlands Universities Foundation, a master’s degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
