Shure Joins AVnu Alliance as a Promoter Member

Shure Incorporated in Niles, Ill., announces that it has joined the AVnu Alliance as a Promoter member. The AVnu Alliance promotes the adoption of the IEEE 802.1 AVB (Audio Video Bridging) standard and the related IEEE 1722 and 1733 into professional A/V, automotive and consumer applications.

“Ever since S.N. Shure founded the company, we have been focused on customer satisfaction and making continuous improvements to ensure they have quality products that help them meet their needs,” says Christine Schyvinck, executive vice president of Global Marketing and Sales for Shure Incorporated. “We are pleased to be joining a group like AVnu in support of an open digital audio network standard for the pro audio industry because this protocol will make it easy for our products to connect seamlessly and ‘talk’ to other manufacturers’ products, which will ultimately allow us to better serve our customers.”

As a Promoter member of the AVnu Alliance, Shure will be actively involved in marketing and technical working groups to help define, implement and encourage adoption of the AVB standard across various industry sectors.

Other AVnu member companies include Avid, Broadcom Corporation, Cisco Systems, Inc., Intel Corporation, Lab X Technologies, Meyer Sound Laboratories Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. For more information on the AVnu Alliance, visit www.avnu.org.
