Recently, Shure Incorporated offered free hearing tests to all associates at its Niles and Wheeling, Ill., locations. More than 300 Shure Associates participated in the program.
“A few years ago we made hearing conservation our corporate cause,” said Sandy LaMantia, president and CEO of Shure. “Because so many of our people are involved in critical listening work and so many of them are musicians, good hearing health is critical to their professional and personal lives. As a company whose work is directly connected to quality audio reproduction, it makes perfect sense for us to offer this benefit to our associates.”
The Shure Bid for Hearing program is dedicated to educating musicians, audio professionals and consumers on how to enjoy sound responsibly. The program also raises money for hearing conservation charities to help underwrite the cost of creating educational publications and films, providing free hearing tests and funding hearing research studies.
