SM Pro Audio presents the VU800 Passive Meter Bridge ($350 estimated street price), the next-generation version of the company’s VU8, for use in broadcast, studio, live, or other audio production applications. The VU800 is a multichannel passive VU meter with built-in headphone monitoring that is designed as an all-purpose visual audio level indicator.

The VU800’s metering channels are completely passive and allow for Peak or Average metering configuration so that signals remain clean and unaltered by any possible interference, and signal levels can be visually represented precisely as intended.
The VU800 can independently configure each of its eight channels for -10dBV or +4dBu operation via rear panel selector switches. The onboard headphone system provides convenient, user-selectable audio monitoring in channel pairs of the available eight channels.
