Softube is shipping the Summit Audio TLA-100A compressor plug-in for native platforms (VST/VST3/AU/RTAS; both 32- and 64-bit). This new plug-in is said to accurately capture the hardware TLA-100A’s unique sound and performance, and it also includes new features designed for the modern DAW production environment.
The Summit Audio TLA-100A is known as a “set-and-forget” compressor, due to its ease of use and smooth, program-dependent sound. After more than 25 years, the TLA-100A is still considered an industry-standard compressor for mixing, tracking and live sound. Its design combines both tube and solid-state technologies, making the TLA-100A a viable choice for vocals, bass, drums, and guitar.
In addition to faithfully modeling the original Summit TLA hardware, Softube has added parallel compression, low-cut sidechain filtering, and an adjustable output distortion control.
Until November 16, 2011, the Summit Audio TLA-100A compressor plug-in is available at authorized North American Softube dealers for the introductory price of $200 (an approximate street price), which represents a 20-percent savings.
