Solid State Logic of Oxford, UK announces the promotion of Quinton Nixon (pictured) to the position of Partnership Manager. Nixon was previously product specialist, a position that he held since his hiring in early 2006. Based in SSL’s Los Angeles office, Nixon’s responsibilities now include sales of the AWS 900+ Analogue Workstation System and customer relations. In addition to developing stronger alliances with SSL’s AWS 900+ retail partners, Nixon is also working closely with educational institutions.
Nixon joined SSL after serving as a product specialist with TC Electronic. Previously, he worked as a staff and freelance recording and post-production engineer based in Atlanta, Ga.
“I started in pro audio as an intern where one of my jobs was to reset SSL Total Recall after sessions,” Nixon recalls. “It’s very gratifying to now be in a position to help people own SSL consoles. As an engineer, I understand the advantages of recording and mixing on an SSL and what owning an SSL can do for a studio’s bottom line. In my new position, I get to spend my time spreading the word.”
