John Frost and Patrick Bird, co-founders and supervising sound mixers at SonicPool, a post-production facility in Hollywood, announce the company’s latest projects.
SonicPool is currently mixing three new independent feature films. Treasure Raiders is an action-adventure film from the Czar Film Company of Russia directed by Brent Huff and starring David Carradine and Sherilyn Fenn. Gardens of the Night stars Peta Wilson, Jeremy Sisto and Tom Arnold, and is directed by Damian Harris. For this project, SonicPool will facilitate the post-production team’s offline editorial suite. The Wager, a drama from writer/director Judson Pearce Morgan, stars country singer Randy Travis. SonicPool’s client for this film is Eagle Rock 1 Entertainment.
SonicPool recently finished the mix of the music editorial for the People’s Choice Awards. It completed the sound design associated with the logo for a new cable TV network, Fear Net, and mixed Fear Net’s promos. In addition, SonicPool is mixing and doing sound design for generic promos for the Game Show Network (GSN) and for a series of TV commercials for Bonton Department stores located across the Midwest.
The company is also mixing a series of radio spots for the films Blink and Smokin’ Aces, and ABC daytime television. It produced voice-over spots for a series of commercials promoting Bell Terra (a Midwestern casino), the play-by-play commentary for the United States Poker Championship, promos for The Disney Channel, and the announcer awards package for Spike TV’s 2006 Video Game Awards television special.
