Sony recently introduced the lightweight ECM-322BC (pictured; $165) and ECM-322BMP ($150) headset microphones to its ECM-322 Series, intended for live sound applications in corporate, educational and house of worship environments. The ECM-322BC includes a 4-pin connector for WL-800 Series wireless products, while the ECM-322BMP offers a 1/8-inch connector for UWP Series wireless. The UWP-X5 ($699) headset/wireless package includes the ECM-322BMP headset, UWP bodypack transmitter and tuner module.

“These wireless tuner modules can be plugged into Sony’s all-in-one SRP-X700P and SRP-X500P digital powered A/V mixers, which can each accept two UWP Series tuner modules,” says Paul Foschino, senior manager for professional audio in Sony Electronics’ Broadcast and Production Systems Division. “Additionally, the new single-rackspace MB-X6 tuner frame can accept from one to six wireless modules.
