Spectral Computers Announces PC Workstations for Pro Audio

Spectral Computers introduced eight new workstations to its line of Windows-based computer systems. All Spectral Computers are designed, built, tested and then qualified as meeting or exceeding the system requirements of pro audio software by most major suppliers including Cakewalk, Digidesign (Pro Tools LE and M-Powered systems), mLAN, Steinberg, Tascam/Gigastudio and others.

The RM-7400 is available in both an Intel 930 Pentium D Dual Core with 4MB cache (2 per core) 800 FSB-based model and an AMD Dual Core 4400+ model. Each system offers 4GB of RAM (DDRII 667MHz dual-channel, Intel; DDR 400MHz dual-channel, AMD), a 74GB SATA 10,000 rpm 4.5ms system hard drive, four 250GB (1 Terabyte) SATA II RAID recording hard drives, and a 400GB removable SATA II backup drive for storage flexibility and 160+MB/second recording drive speed. The RM-7400 also offers an Nvidia PCI Express 6600 16x dual-head video card.

Spectral also introduced the RM-7200 (pictured), RM-7100 and RM-5100 workstations. All Spectral 7000 and 5000 Series computers feature a 3U rackmount case with a low-noise automatic temperature control system and a 400-watt quiet power supply (except the RM-5100, which features a 300W power supply). The chassis provides multiple IEEE1394 (FireWire) and USB 2 ports, a DVD-R/W 16x dual layer drive, LAN ports, a 7-in-1 card memory card reader, keyboard and optical mouse. The RM-5100 uses Windows XP Home, while all 7000 Series models use the Windows XP Professional operating system.
