At Winter NAMM 2005 (January 20-23), Spectrasonics released a new 1.2 version of Stylus RMX. The new version of the award-winning groove software adds more than a dozen new features including three brand new, professional quality effect modules, as well as enhanced compatibility with major host applications. The update is now available as a free download for all registered users from the Spectrasonics website in all supported plug-in platforms.
The Stylus RMX Realtime Groove Module was released in October 2004. “We’re very pleased with the positive reaction to Stylus RMX,” stated Eric Persing, Spectrasonics’ founder and creative director. “Version 1.0 of Stylus RMX was just the beginning! The flexibility of our new S.A.G.E. Technology opens up so many possibilities for continuing to develop Stylus RMX into an even more amazing tool for composers, remixers and producers. I think people are going to really love the new effects modules and library of effects presets we’ve created. The ability to instantly swap out entire racks of effects on-the-fly inside of a groove is a lot of fun.”
The Stylus RMX virtual instrument plug-in also adds compatibility for eight pairs of multiple audio outputs in both Digidesign® Pro Tools™ V. 6.7 and Apple® Logic™ V. 7. Multiple outputs are also currently implemented in VST host platforms.
New Stylus RMX V. 1.2 features include three new effect modules (Radio Delay, PRO-Verb, Spring); new effect preset library of 450 presets and rack presets; single effects patch management; effect rack patch management; “Next Bar” trigger mode; multiple outputs in Apple Logic 7; and more.
All S.A.G.E. Xpanders retail for $99 each. The U.S. suggested retail price for Stylus RMX is $299. Stylus RMX supports all major host applications compatible with Apple Macintosh AU, VST and RTAS, and Microsoft Windows VST.
