After 38 years and more than 300,000 commercials, Norfolk, Va.–based Studio Center has changed hands.

After 38 years and more than 300,000 commercials, Norfolk, Va.–based Studio Center has changed hands. William Prettyman, a veteran radio station owner and manager on the east coast, joined with Sunshine Wireless Inc., a company that currently owns controlling interest of Excelsior Radio Networks, to purchase Studio Center from its founder, Warren Miller.

Studio Center, one of the most successful production houses in the U.S., is comprised of 14 studios located in Norfolk, Las Vegas and Memphis, Tenn. Studio Center produces Radio and TV commercial audio, audio for documentaries, CD-ROMS, in-flight entertainment, computer games, toys, web sites, corporate training programs and in-store announcements for clients worldwide. Recent clients include A&E, AOL, BMW, Blockbuster Video, Bud Light, the Cartoon Network, Domino’s, GEICO, GE, HGTV, Hardee’s, Heineken, the History Channel, Lowe’s, McDonald’s, MTV, NASA, NASCAR, PBS, Pepsi, Starbucks, Subway, Victoria’s Secret and The Washington Post.
