Studio Referral Service Launches Lab To Delivery

Studio Referral Service (SRS) founder Ellis Sorkin has expanded the company into post-production with Lab To Delivery (LTD), a venture that also includes Alicia Hirsch, formerly of Universal Studios and MTM Studios, and Michael Frondelli, formerly of Capitol Recording Studios. The newly launched company is consulting with producer Walter T. Shaw Jr. on his upcoming feature film, A License to Steal.

Operating on a similar model to Studio Referral Service, the new LTD venture connects television and film clients with post-production facilities that best meet their needs within the available budget. Targeting productions with any budget—from the smallest indie to features—LTD matches its production clients with Hollywood facilities that are able to package a full range of post-production services at a competitive price. LTD’s roster of service providers range from the finest independent houses to major post facilities.

Additionally, LTD works closely with production clients from the initial script breakdown to ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective allocation of the post-production budget. Using Hirsch’s expertise as a line producer both on the corporate side and as an independent entrepreneur, LTD searches for post-production facilities that are creatively and technically a perfect fit while also keeping the project within the specified guaranteed budget.

“You have to make sure the person you’re talking to understands the new medium and the new technology,” says Hirsch. “So, you have to make sure you hook up with people who really understand the new technologies to help them make their product better.”
