According to a report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for broadcast and sound engineering technicians and radio operators is expected to grow faster than average through 2016. Job growth in radio and TV broadcasting will be limited by consolidation of ownership of radio and TV stations, and by labor-saving technical advances. Offsetting that trend is a move toward digital broadcasting that will increase employment opportunities.
