SugarHill Recording Studios in Houston, Texas and the Pacifica Radio Network launched The SugarHill Sessions radio show in April 2006 on Houston’s Pacifica affiliate station, KPFT 90.1 FM , as a means of profiling independent artists. On October 27, the program hosted songwriter David Bazan (Jade Tree). Bazan is best known for his work as the singer for Pedro the Lion and was recently named one of the Top 100 Living Songwriters in Paste Magazine. In 2006, Bazan retired the band moniker to continue making music under his own name and his electronic side project, Headphones.

Bazan is currently on a U.S. tour promoting his EP, Fewer Moving Parts, before returning to Seattle to begin work on his upcoming full-length release.
