Hyde Street Studios’ A room, home to Transaudio’s mic placement seminar series during AES
TransAudio Group, in association with Hyde Street Recording Studios and sponsored by Brauner and Soundelux Microphones and Mercury Recording Equipment, hosted guitar, vocal and drum microphone placement seminars during the recent AES Convention in San Francisco.
Accoridng to TransAudio Group founder Brad Lunde, the seminars were so successful, they plan to take the shows on the road in 2005. “Let’s face it, after the mic choice itself, placement is the most critical aspect of capturing sound,” he says. “However, placement remains one of the least understood crafts of recording engineering. We believe there is a real need for this application information and real interest in a hands-on demonstration.”
