Turbosound Shows TA-500DP Loudspeaker, Announces Distribution Change

Turbosound TA-500DP loudspeaker

Building on the success of the award-winning Aspect modular point-source loudspeaker system at major festivals and concert tours this summer, the 123rd AES convention sees Turbosound showing its TA-500DP self-powered, three-way, full-range loudspeaker with onboard, user-adjustable DSP in New York City’s Javits Center from October 5 to 8 (booth #136).

The TA-500 Series is available in horizontal and vertical orientations, and powered or non-powered formats. Aimed at both touring applications—with its integrated flyware—and fixed installations, the TA-500’s patented Polyhorn devices promises the ability to create a seamless array over a tightly focused 50×25-degree (HxV) coverage pattern.

Additionally, Turbosound will feature its NuQ Series of networkable self-powered loudspeakers. Comprising Class-D amplifiers using 96kHz sample rates, the NuQ Series promises consistent performance and real-time network control.

Turbosound is also announcing a change in its distribution channels: Effective October 1, 2007, Turbosound has joined American Music & Sound’s family of brands.

“Turbosound produces the most innovative loudspeaker systems on the market,“ says Lynn Martin, president of American Music & Sound. “We are honored to have them on board, and we look forward to spearheading Turbosound’s further push into the American market.”

“American Music & Sound is extremely well-aligned to take Turbosound to the next level in the U.S.,” says Turbosound’s new managing director, Simon Blackwood. “They have a number of complimentary product lines in their roster to leverage our brand and are in a perfect position to market our products through their existing channels.

“Also fantastic news for us is that Brad Stephens, who managed the Turbosound brand at previous distributor Sennheiser, is moving across to AM&S to continue his role as national sales manager, and so maintain continuity with the company’s client base. Brad is a longtime Turbosound fanatic with more than 12 years experience with the product line and, combined with my long personal association with AM&S’ president and founder, Lynn Martin, means I’m absolutely confident that the combination of Brad and AM&S will work extremely well for us.

“Additionally, as part of this distribution change, management of the South American market returns to our direct control, and we will be progressively appointing new territory exclusive partners in due course,” Blackwood concludes.
