The University of Massachusetts, Lowell purchased a 48-channel API Vision surround mixing console for its Master of Music in Sound Recording Technology program under the direction of Dr. William Moylan, chairperson of the Department of Music. The console was purchased so that students would have the opportunity to work with full 5.1 surround mix and production capabilities. Installation will be complete in early August for the upcoming fall semester.
The program is designed to provide graduates with in-depth knowledge of current and experimental audio technologies, sound recording technology, production practice, and research practices and techniques.
