Universal Audio Releases UAD Software Version 7.1

Universal Audio’s latest UAD Software Version 7.1 features the Pultec Passive EQ Plug-In Collection and the Millennia NSEQ-2 plug-in, and offers enhancements to the Apollo Audio Interface, including Flex Routing, which allows inputs to be routed to hardware outputs, headphone bus routing, as well as selectable pre/post Aux send. Flex Routing is said to speed up workflow and add another level of flexibility for Apollo and Apollo 16 users in studio and live situations.

Apollo Flex Routing allows users to route up to eight Console channel inputs to hardware outputs (including analog, ADAT, S/PDIF, and AES/EBU) with optional monitor mirroring. Apollo headphone mix buses can be mirrored to any hardware output. It also offers pre/post fader switching for Aux mix buses and vertical resizing of the Console application window.

Pultec Passive EQ Plug-In Collection

The Pultec Passive EQ Plug-In Collection models the complex transformer and tube amplifier nonlinearities of the EQP-1A and MEQ-5 Pultec EQs while adding the HLF-3C filter. The EQP-1A Program EQ brings out individual frequency ranges without significantly altering neighboring frequencies, remaining smooth and musical even with extreme levels of boost. With the companion MEQ-5 Mid-Range Equalizer, users can adjust midrange frequencies using its band overlap and filter interactions. The HLF-3C adds 12dB per octave low- and high-cut filters for broad, retro-flavored tone sculpting.

Available for purchase via UA’s Online Store, the new Pultec Passive EQ Plug-In Collection is selling for $299, or for $149 for current owners of the legacy Pultec Pro EQ plug-in. It requires UAD-2 DSP Accelerator Card or Apollo Interface.

Millennia NSEQ-2 Parametric EQ

UAD direct developer Brainworx has developed the Millennia NSEQ-2 Parametric EQ ($299 from UA’s Online Store) for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform and Apollo Audio Interfaces. By emulating Millennia’s exclusive Twin Topology circuit and pure Class-A transformerless circuitry, the Millennia NSEQ-2 plug-in is designed to yield a powerful, sonically neutral, analog-sounding EQ that brims with spectacular clarity. With the ability to switch between an all-triode 300-volt vacuum tube signal path, and an all-discrete JFET solid-state signal path, users have access to two distinctly different EQs, each offering headroom and an array of sonic flavors and colors. The Millennia NSEQ-2 plug-in features M/S (mid/side) mode, Link mode, and an Output Trim control. This plug-in requires a UAD-2 DSP Accelerator Card or Apollo Interface.
