Van Steijn Music Installs Fairlight Station

Following a full evaluation, Frans van Steijn, owner of the Van Steijn Music Composing and Recording Studio in Hilversum, The Netherlands, has invested in a new CC-1 based Fairlight Station with 12-fader sidecar. The system will deliver recording, editing and mixing in multiple formats across a range of projects.

“I was the original adopter of Fairlight equipment in The Netherlands over 13 years ago, so I’m very familiar with the brand,” van Steijn says. “My studio in Hilversum does post-production work for commercials and corporate movies, and in that respect, surround sound is getting more and more important. I needed a system capable of delivering a complete integrated solution, including video, and was amazed by Fairlight once again after seeing the performance of the CC-1 engine. The combination of editor with integrated surround mixing desk, plus a very powerful mix automation system, is so powerful. It was an easy and quick decision to move on with Fairlight.”

Frans van Steihns’ Fairlight Satellite will now move to the studio in Noordwijkerhout, where the focus is on music production.

“In that studio environment, the creative aspect is very important,” van Steijn adds. “I can now do my job at ease working on a Satellite, too. In both studios, I now have cutting-edge technology of Fairlight, and that is a very comfortable feeling.”
