WhisperRoom Inc. in Morristown, Tenn., is celebrating 20 years of manufacturing portable/modular sound-isolation booths for a variety of applications, both commercial and residential. The company states that the first WhisperRoom resulted from the desire to play a saxophone in an apartment without disturbing neighbors.
WhisperRooms are designed for applications including vocal recording, voice-overs, Foley recording, audiology testing, audio mixing, instrument recording and practice, and vibration/sound testing in a manufacturing setting.
WhisperRooms are now deployed in recording, broadcast and television studios, universities and high schools, government facilities, audiologist’s offices, manufacturing and manufacturing testing facilities as well as home studios. Clients include NBC, NPR, Walt Disney Entertainment, MTV and Telemundo, among others.
“We want to provide a solution, not just make a sale,” says Debbie Sweany, director of sales and marketing. “We will continue to stay current with industry markets and provide products as necessary to accommodate our clients’ needs.”
The company will exhibit at the NAB Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center, April 10-15, 2010, in booth SL5105. NAB registration is available at www.nabshow.com/free. WhisperRoom states that a free exhibits-only pass can be obtained by using the code NV1647.
