World’s First Fairlight DREAM Anthem installed in Studio N, Germany

Fairlight announced today that Sound Studio N in Cologne, Germany will install the world’s first Fairlight DREAM Anthem.

Fairlight announced today that Sound Studio N in Cologne, Germany will install the world’s first Fairlight DREAM Anthem, scheduled for completion in 2006. The impressive “winged” seven-bay Anthem will occupy Control Room 1 and will be instantly reconfigurable for both music and post-production workflows. The in-line and split modes will provide a familiar working environment for music production, while the Constellation mode provides the ultimate in productive post-production operation. Fairlight’s new SX48 Signal Exchange, a compact remotely configurable I/O solution, will deliver audio between the live area and control room.

Since opening its doors in 1970, Sound Studio N has served a wide range of recording artists, cinema, broadcast and radio clients. Its client roster includes Moguai, Scorpions, Simple Minds, Vienna Symphonic Orchestra, Helmut Lotti, Herbert Grönemeyer, Prof. Stockhausen, Fugees, Sarah Brightman, Pink, Garbage and the Gipsy Kings, among others. In addition, Sound Studio N has recorded a number of hit musicals, such as Aida, Cabaret, Phantom of the Opera, Starlight Express, Miami Nights and Les Miserables.

In 2001, Sound Studio N moved to its new location in the center of Cologne near the Rhein River. The Anthem will reside in Control Room 1 and will be seamlessly networked via Fairlight MediaLink with Fairlight QDC engines in Control Rooms 2 and 3. The contract to supply the Anthem together with installation, which is scheduled for February 2006, has been overseen by Fairlight’s Business Partner in Germany, Ton und Studiotechnik GmbH, which is based near Dusseldorf.
