XO Audio announced the release of XO Wave Beta Version 0.19.0 Mac OS X software for audio production and post-production, including CD mastering, editing, creating podcasts and more. The company states that this version offers a completely redesigned interface, new features and bug fixes.
The Gain Matrix Effect feature can be used for adding large amounts of gain, for swapping channels or inverting
phase, MS decoding, stereo widening, mono compatibility checking and more. Envelope Generator Effect is intended primarily for ducking, although its flexible design allows it to be used for dynamics-controlled effects, such as auto-wah. Support for Sassafras K2 Key-Server allows more flexible licensing for institutions such as universities. The new version is also said to include improved metering, import/export dialogs, and ripple and query modes.
XO Wave is available as a free download and as a shareware package with extra features for $85.
