Eleven Engineering, Inc. Announces New SKAA® Talisa Pro Audio Transmitter

Now Available, the Transmitter Works with Both Coax and Optical (Toslink) with No Necessary Pairing and Low Latency, Making it the Ideal Digital Pro Audio Wireless Solution

EDMONTON, Alberta, Canada, May 21, 2020 – Eleven Engineering, Inc. (www.elevenengineering.com), a market leader in semiconductor products for wireless audio for professional, home theater, multi-room, portable, 12 Volt (car, truck, motorcycle, power sports, marine) and gaming applications, is proud to announce that the new Talisa Pro SKAA transmitter is now available at the SKAA.com store.

“Talisa was designed primarily for use with TVs or laptops with either Talisa’s digital audio S/PDIF optical (Toslink) or coax input, able to broadcast to any SKAA-equipped speaker running SKAA OS 2.1 or newer,” explained Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering executive vice president, sales & marketing. “Now there is Talisa Pro. Because of its incredibly low latency, Talisa Pro is ideal to use in professional audio applications, such as with SKAA-enabled Dillinger Helix headphones for DJ use, Aquarius speakers for studio monitoring, or any of our partner brands’ SKAA-enabled products.”

One of the principal disadvantages of traditional wireless audio solutions is inherent latency issues which prevent their use with any source that is video-based, such as TV, movies, social media, and communications. The SKAA standard, which has a 36ms fixed latency that is well below the industry standard for the audio-to-video delta, is ideal for these applications and performs flawlessly at these tasks. SKAA’s low latency ability is something that Bluetooth® and WiFi audio-based solutions cannot accomplish for many reasons. However, there are even more demanding applications, such as high-speed gaming and live performance (DJ) that require even lower latency. This is where SKAA Pro takes over.

“SKAA Pro technology is the professional version that is fully compatible within the SKAA standard,” Whitehead added. “With a low latency 18ms with 1:2 relation, it is ideal for DJ duos, portable DJ set-ups and other Pro applications. In addition, there is no paring required and SKAA Pro transmitters are fully compatible/interchangeable with both existing as well as future SKAA speakers in the marketplace, making the transition seamless to the end user.”

Additional Talisa Pro specifications include:

  • Works with 2-channel 44.1 or 48 kHz PCM uncompressed S/PDIF digital audio (but not encoded multichannel audio streams)
  • Sends audio to up to two receivers
  • Use the remote you already own to control volume and mute
  • Use up to five transmitters in the same area
  • 35 meters (100 feet) indoor range
  • Power from any USB port
  • Ships with SKAA Pro OS, compatible with all receivers running SKAA OS 2.1 or newer

SKAA is the new wireless HiFi audio standard developed by Eleven Engineering, Inc. SKAA transmitters work with iOS & Android mobile devices, Mac & Windows computers, televisions, and just about any product with a line output or a headphone jack. SKAA is also available as a built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter in purpose-designed partner products, which are featured at SKAA.com. In environments laden with heavy Wi-Fi and Bluetooth traffic, SKAA navigates through these hostile environments with best-in-class reliability. SKAA also allows for uninterrupted audio signals which are delivered with the highest sound quality to all speakers without the latency that is inherent in other wireless solutions.
