It was a big year for Solid State Logic and TC Electronics, both of whom received four nominations, and AKG and Universal Audio, who received three each, while six other companies (Euphonix, Focusrite, JBL, Sennheiser, Telefunken and Yamaha) garnered two nominations apiece.
“We’re thrilled to be returning to New York for our 25th Anniversary,” says Hillel Resner, president of the Mix Foundation. “This is where the TEC Awards were born back in 1985, at the Puck Building in SoHo. Even though the Foundation separated from Mix Magazine last year, our support within the professional audio community is stronger than ever.”
The TEC Awards will be held on the second evening of the 127th AES convention and is expected to draw at least 500 top sound and music professionals from around the world. Funds derived from the ceremony support the Mix Foundation’s educational programs, including the TEC Awards(r), the TECnology Hall of Fame and scholarship programs for students of the audio arts and sciences.
