Renowned Music Scoring Mixer Celebrates 85th Birthday in the Studio
Hit Fox TV series “Alcatraz” has completed its first season of scores recorded at Ocean Way Recording in Hollywood. With music composed by Michael Giacchino, Andrea Datzman and Chris Tilton, the scoring called for 32-piece orchestras recorded by renowned music scoring mixer Dan Wallin, who celebrated his 85th birthday and 60 years in the industry at the studio.
“Alcatraz” was created by Elizabeth Sarnoff, Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt, and produced by J. J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and premiered on Fox on January 16, 2012. Switching between eras, the series focuses on the Alcatraz prison, which was shut down in 1963, due to unsafe conditions for its prisoners and guards. However, both the prisoners and the guards disappeared and are now being tracked down by a government agency. The series stars Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia, Sam Neill and Parminder Nagra.
The series concludes with a 2-hour season finale on March 26, 2012.
