Aster Sound Blooms in Music City

Lead PhantomFocus Installation Engineer Adam David Smith opens his own PhantomFocus MixRoom™ in Nashville

Nashville, TN: Adam David Smith, Lead PhantomFocus Installation Engineer for Carl Tatz Design® (CTD), now has his own personal PhantomFocus MixRoom™ named Aster Sound, installed in an unused space in his home in Nashville. The facility has been a long-term goal for Smith, who has installed many PhantomFocus Systems (PFS) across the country, and now having his own is a dream come true.

“I think Adam, who does such meticulous work installing our monitor systems, was understandably both spoiled by the PFS and at the same time, frustrated to have to come back to his modest studio and make do for his mix projects. So, I’m really happy for him now that he has the real deal to work in,” states Carl Tatz, seven-time TEC Award-nominated studio designer and PhantomFocus creator.

Smith, who chose a pair of PFM HD-1000 Master Reference Monitors for Aster Sound, says, “Unsurprisingly, I work faster with more confidence producing better and more consistent mixes – and have a lot more fun. Like all PF MixRooms, Aster Sound is very comfortable to work in for long hours both sonically and environmentally. Even though my MixRoom has a relatively compact footprint, it feels like a larger room due to Carl’s architectural and acoustic design.”

Auralex® Carl Tatz Design Signature Series™ Acoustics Modules were used throughout the installation.
