~GRAMMA Provides Dramatic Isolation to Clean Up Bass Amplifier Sound~
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – When Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Stu Cook, bassist for Creedence Clearwater Revival and now Creedence Clearwater Revisited, needed to clean up the sound from his bass amplifier on stage, the Auralex GRAMMA (Gig and Recording, Amp and Monitor, Modulation Attenuator) was the solution. One of the many acoustical issues faced by live performance is the acoustic coupling that happens between instrument amplifiers and/or wedge monitors and the stage. These bass frequencies can muddy the sound from the amplifier while creating difficult feedback problems through the acoustic coupling of a mic stand and the stage. The GRAMMA dramatically isolates any amplifier up to 300 lbs. in weight, thereby eliminating harmful acoustic coupling, cleaning up the sound and making the mix engineer’s life a bit easier.

Stu Cook played bass guitar in the American rock band, Creedence Clearwater Revival. After Creedence broke up, Cook and former Creedence drummer Doug Clifford formed Factory Productions, and joined Don Harrison in the Don Harrison Band. Cook later produced Roky Erickson & The Aliens in 1979, and joined the country rock band Southern Pacific in 1985 (replacing Jerry Scheff). Cook remained with Southern Pacific until they broke up in 1990. Cook and Doug Clifford later formed the band, Creedence Clearwater Revisited in 1995 and play concerts and gigs throughout North America to this day. Given the wide range of venues and stages the band encounters, the GRAMMA has become a vital part of the set up. Cook was also recently involved in Jackdawg, a self-titled release including John McFee (Doobie Brothers/Clover), and the late Keith Knudsen (Doobie Brothers.) The never-before-released album includes 14 original tracks penned by McFee, Cook and Knudsen as well as two covers including Roky Erickson’s “Cold Night for Alligators� and Van Morrison’s classic, “Wild Night.�
