LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – JUNE 2015: From Drawmer, maker of high-end pro audio signal processing equipment used for decades to record hit albums, comes the Drawmer MC1.1 Monitor Pre-Amp, which is the ultimate way to listen to those hit albums… or to make new ones! The MC1.1 employs a pristine, all-analog signal path that presents any audio input honestly and in its very best light, including MP3 players, balanced or unbalanced line-level sources such as CD players and DAW outputs, and turntables. Indeed, the MC1.1 includes the requisite RIAA phono stage circuitry that, when paired with the superior preamp circuitry of the MC1.1, will make vinyl practically jump out of your loudspeakers. Outputs from the MC1.1 can feed active loudspeakers (with a separate subwoofer output), a separate power amplifier for driving passive loudspeakers, or headphones. The Drawmer MC1.1 is distributed in the United States by boutique pro audio specialist TransAudio Group and lists for just $599.

“The Drawmer MC1.1 is the sibling of the popular Drawmer MC2.1,” explained Brad Lunde, President of TransAudio Group. “The MC2.1 is geared more for pro audio applications, where engineers need to select among multiple loudspeaker systems. The MC1.1 shares the MC2.1’s outstanding analog circuitry, but its feature set is suited to either the music enthusiast or the project studio with just a single loudspeaker system. Unlike most monitor controllers in its class, the Drawmer MC1.1 includes a phono input, which is a hot commodity given the resurgence of vinyl these days.”

The Drawmer MC1.1’s front panel includes headphone volume control, main output volume control, and source selection. Both volume knobs incorporate a paralleled custom quad pot for excellent channel matching and the smoothest possible action. Its circuitry guarantees ultra-low noise and stunning transparency, both of which are helped by a linear power supply with a low-hum toroidal transformer and internal voltage selector switch. With the optional Drawmer MCB 2U, the MC1.1 can be rack-mounted, which also provides a jumper to the 3.5mm aux input from the front panel.
