BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND SENNHEISER’S 11TH ANNUAL NAMM DEALER APPRECIATION PARTY

OLD LYME, CONNECTICUT – JANUARY 2009: Back for its eleventh year and in high demand, the concert event of the 2009 Winter NAMM Show will be the Sennheiser Dealer Appreciation Party. Youthful pop-punk powerhouse We the Kings will warm things up for headliner, The Larry Braggs Project with the Tower of Power Horns making this party the not-to-be-missed NAMM event on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the House of Blues-Anaheim, located just a short walk from the Convention Center in Downtown Disneyland.

Larry Braggs has been on the road, performing and touring, for over a decade and has shared the stage with countless other artists, including Al Green, James Brown, War, Sir Tom Jones, B.B. King, Incognito, Dave Koz, Tony Bennett, Al McKay, and The Sons of Champlan, just to name a few. Braggs’ voice is widely regarded as one of the strongest and most versatile voices in music today. He’ll use a Sennheiser custom-bodied evolution SKM 565 G2 to cut through the rich stew of instrumentation that will accompany him.

The Sennheiser Dealer Appreciation Party’s reputation for phenomenal sound stems in large part from a stage full of Sennheiser microphones, and this year will be no exception. Braggs’ drummer will have an e 901 and an e 902 on kick; a pair of e 905s on primary snare; an additional e 905 on an auxiliary snare; an e 614 for hi-hat; e 904s all around the toms; an e 908 on cowbell; and a pair of e 914 small-diaphragm condensers for overheads. An industry-standard Sennheiser e 906 will capture the guitar amp, while a triad of e 906s will surround the Leslie cabinet. A pair of Sennheiser’s famous MD 421-IIs will convey the liveliness of the trumpet and trombone, while a handful of additional e 935 vocal mics will serve Braggs’ background singers.

Also on the bill at Sennheiser’s 11th Annual Dealer Appreciation Party will be We the Kings, one of the big hits on last year’s Vans Warped Tour, and recently co-headlining with The Academy Is…. With no member of the band over the age of 22, We the Kings have already amassed a huge fan base and garnered large profiles in well-read publications like Alternative Press Magazine, Kerrang! and Substream Music Press. In addition to extensive touring, they have played on CBS’s The Early Show, MTV’s Spring Break 2008, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Radio Disney.

We the Kings’ complete microphone complement comes from Sennheiser’s evolution e 900 series, representing the top-of-the-line live mics that, not only sound fantastic but also, are robust to the harsh conditions of the road. The drum and guitar mics mirror those of Braggs’ setup, but in addition to a DI, bassist Drew Thomsen will use an e 902 on his cabinet. Three Sennheiser wireless SKM 935 G2 microphones will span the stage to capture the band’s energetic vocals, along with their between-song quips.

Sennheiser thanks LMG Touring, who is providing enhanced audio, video and lighting for the party. They would also like to thank the House of Blues for delivering that extra special touch that makes all their events special.

Anyone wishing to attend this exciting event should visit the Sennheiser Booth #6579 and ask one of the sales reps for an invitation. The party starts at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 16th and will go until 11:00 p.m. at The House of Blues, 1530 South Disneyland Drive, and will include complimentary food and cocktails. From the convention center, it’s only a ten-minute walk, a $5 cab ride, or a $3 Disney shuttle ride round trip (purchase tix in advance via your hotel).
