On January 18, Saturday afternoon at Winter NAMM 2020, friends of engineer/producer Ed Cherney will join interviewer Mr. Bonzai in an exploration of the life of a major figure in the music of the last 40 years.

The music industry lost a giant a couple of months ago. Ed Cherney was more than a highly talented and skilled engineer/producer with astounding credits; he was also an inspiration to thousands of music professionals. Come celebrate his life with stories and memories from his childhood and lifetime friends.

Featured guests include Ed’s lifelong friend and fellow Chicagoan Frank Pirruccello, who will recount the days when they were just teenagers knocking around looking for their future. In addition to surprise guests, panelists include fellow engineers Ross Hogarth, Nathaniel Kunkel, Gavin Lurssen, and Erik Zobler. Leslie Lewis, first executive director of The Recording Academy P&E Wing, will recount those pivotal early days. Famed bassist Leland Sklar will try to explain how Ed got his lower frequencies in all the right places.
