Bose® L1® Model II System Chosen for Acclaimed Vocal Duo Joey+Rory

Academy of Country Music’s 2010 “Top New Vocal Duo” award winners take their Bose® L1® Model II loudspeaker system with B2 Bass subwoofers to their Middle Tennessee farm, where it becomes the house PA and monitor system for the duo’s The Joey+Rory Show on RFD-TV

Framingham, Massachusetts, June 26, 2014 – Critically acclaimed vocal duo Joey+Rory have done it all. Rory Feek has written four number-one country hits, among them “Some Beach,” recorded by Blake Shelton, and “A Little More Country Than That,” recorded by Easton Corbin, and has had dozens of other songs recorded by some of the biggest artists in country music. He and his wife, Joey, are road warriors and regulars on the Grand Ole Opry, where they’ve performed over 40 times. While they garnered the Academy of Country Music® “Top New Vocal Duo” award in 2010, have their own television show on RFD-TV, and a radio program on Nashville’s WSM, Joey still finds time to work at their family-owned café while Rory handles farm chores. To make the most out of busy lives and careers, they know they have to choose the right tools, and one of their most important pieces is the L1® Model II system with B2 Bass modules from Bose® Professional Systems.

After deciding to embark on a performing career in 2008, Joey+Rory got to work making records and hitting the road. In 2011, Rory encountered the Bose L1 sound system being used by a colleague and he asked to borrow it for a few dates on the road. Both he and Joey quickly realized how the Bose L1 system could make their lives easier, by functioning as a combination PA and monitoring system. The highly portable L1 system fit nicely in the cargo bay of their bus. Once they had acquired their own pair of L1 Model 1S systems and two B1 Bass modules, the systems also served as the main PA and monitoring system for the filming of their popular television program. The Joey+Rory Show is filmed in a converted barn right on their Tennessee farm. Joey and Rory soon realized that this barn/studio would also make a great concert hall, and with the help of the L1 system, Joey+Rory now perform sold-out “Farmhouse Concerts” in this intimate 300-seat venue. In 2013, they upgraded to a pair of L1 Model II systems with B2 Bass modules.

“We can use the Bose PA anywhere, in almost any sized room, so it’s a very effective choice for us,” says Rory. “We’ve used it in pretty big halls where it’s both the PA and the monitor system, and we also use it in the café, which seats 60 people, for really intimate songwriter performances. The L1 system keeps the vocal out in front and it makes the live performance sound like the way you recorded it.”

The Bose L1 system has become so deeply enmeshed in Joey+Rory’s lives that it was also the PA used at the reception for their daughter’s wedding. “It’s just a great sound system – reliable, portable, easy to use and great sounding,” he says. “I guess you could say it’s part of the family now.”
