Leading A/V Rental Firms Choose Bose Professional ShowMatch DeltaQ Line Array Loudspeaker Systems for High-Profile  Festivals and Live Events

ShowMatch DeltaQ speaker systems have seen increasing use at large-scale events throughout the U.S., Europe, Latin America and more

Framingham, MA – The word is out among the A/V systems rental community worldwide – Bose ShowMatch DeltaQ line array loudspeaker systems are an ideal sound reinforcement choice for large-scale festivals and entertainment events of all types, and a smart investment for rental and production companies. This summer saw increasing use of the ShowMatch system for festivals in the U.S., Europe, Latin America and beyond. Four events in particular showcased the ShowMatch system: Rock al Parque in Bogotá, Colombia; Siren Festival in Vasto, Italy; the Hermosa Beach Summer Concert series in California; and the Medusa Sunbeach Festival in Cullera, Spain.

The 24th edition of the highly popular music festival Rock al Parque took place August 18 – 20 at the Simon Bolivar Metropolitan Park in Bogotá, Colombia. A/V rental and production company Iluminacion Jaime Dussan, responsible for all audiovisual services at Rock al Parque 2018, used its ShowMatch DeltaQ line array loudspeaker system to deliver high quality sound for audiences of up to 15,000 concert-goers at The Lago Stage. 18 different bands were served, each representing the best of their field, in such diverse genres as metal, ska, hard rock, acid jazz and reggae. Satisfying the demands of this wide array of artists and their sound engineers was an important challenge for both Iluminacion Jaime Dussan and its partner P.A. Sound Colombia, whose technical crews oversaw the operations for this stage. Juan Camilo Fernandez, Support Sound Engineer for Iluminacion Jaime Dussan, stated, “We’ve worked with ShowMatch in many concerts and festivals in the last few months, and it’s always been up to the task. At Rock al Parque, ShowMatch was pushed to the limit, handling very high levels of sound pressure, but the end result was excellent – always above the noise of the crowd and with good, full dynamic range.”

Rental partner Sonique Live supported all six stages at the Siren Festival 2018, set in and around the town of Vasto, Italy. Four stages, including one on a beach, featured Bose Professional ShowMatch DeltaQ line arrays. F1 Flexible Array loudspeaker systems delivered atmosphere in a garden setting, and six L1 portable PAs were on hand for acoustic and vocal presentations in a local church. More than 30 artists performed over two days, including headliner Nic Cester.

Now a yearly tradition, California’s Hermosa Beach has hosted weekly concerts on each Sunday in August for 10 years. The 2018 Hermosa Beach Summer Concerts series was bigger than ever. Event organizer Allen Sanford pulled out all the stops in honor of the series’ 10-year anniversary, delighting weekly crowds surpassing 10,000 attendees. Sanford contracted Cerritos, CA-based Total Production Group (TPG) to handle the production, and they spec’ed the ShowMatch system from Bose Professional. TPG partner Steve McAllister was confident the Bose rig could handle the job. He remarked, “I’m consistently impressed with the performance of ShowMatch. Because it’s a free show with an undefined venue boundary, we never know how far back the audience will sit, which is a challenge. We anticipated 300 feet, but at some shows the audience stretched back more than 500 feet from the stage. Not only was the Bose rig solid throughout the 300-foot range, it carried past the 500-foot mark with clear, intelligible sound.”

Held in Cullera, Spain, Medusa Sunbeach recently presented its fifth annual electronic music festival to a 300,000-strong crowd. The festival offered the very best of world-class DJ’s to entertain audiences over three days of performances. Madrid-based rental company Delta Sound Spain was appointed to provide audio for the Little Bird stage, one of three stages within the public access festival area. The debut of the ShowMatch system for one of its first appearances on a major European festival stage made a strong impression. Jose De La Torre, CEO of Delta Sound Spain, comments, “As we loaded onto the Little Bird Stage, operators of systems on the other two main stages were astonished that we were setting up such a small system. They seriously questioned whether it would be big enough to cope. During the event, they all came over to witness how loud ShowMatch can go while maintaining such precision and quality.” Over the three days the Little Bird stage hosted 33 DJ’s. The Delta Sound Spain team, keen to know the opinions of the DJ’s playing on the system, received some encouraging feedback. DJ Neil had this feedback: “The sound that Bose achieved in Medusa’s Stage was simply spectacular. Awesome bass and clear sound. I hope to find this setup in many more performances.”
