Bose® Ships Dante™ Cards for ControlSpace® Processors and PowerMatch® Power Amplifiers

Framingham, Massachusetts, January 30, 2014 – Bose® Professional Systems has begun shipping three new cards that bring Dante™ networking interoperability to the company’s latest ControlSpace® engineered sound processors and PowerMatch® configurable professional power amplifiers. Each user-installable Dante option card provides 48 kHz / 24-bit digital audio network connectivity over standard IP networks for connecting with Bose and other manufacturers’ Dante-enabled products. Bose Dante cards feature configurable secondary ports for modes supporting daisy-chaining or no-glitch audio redundancy. Built on existing networking protocols and standards, Dante is a plug-and-play networking solution which delivers ultra-low latency and tightly synchronized media, while simplifying installation and configuration of digital media networks.

The new Bose ControlSpace® Designer™ version 4.0 software release enables configuration of PowerMatch and ControlSpace products using the new Dante option cards. ControlSpace Designer software enables an operator to design, configure, control and monitor all Bose networked system electronics using a single application.

The new 8×8 Dante™ card option for the PowerMatch® power amplifiers provides digital input to the amplifier of up to eight audio channels from a Dante network. For monitoring purposes, up to eight foldback channels can be transmitted back onto the Dante network from a PowerMatch amplifier.

A second new card model supports 16×16 digital audio channels in Bose’s single-rack fixed-analog ControlSpace® engineered sound processors, including the ESP-880 (8×8 analog I/O), ESP-1240 (12×4) and ESP-4120 (4×12) products. The Dante card slips into the rear-panel network slot on the DSP chassis and is installed in minutes with just two screws. Both Dante audio and Bose network control is together over a single Ethernet connection as a feature of this card, keeping the setup and networking cabling simple.

With the addition of the third Dante network card model there are now 12 expansion card options available for the ControlSpace ESP-00 II engineered sound processor, which includes eight open card slots as standard. The new card provides up to 16×16 channels of digital audio connectivity with other Dante-enabled products. The ControlSpace ESP-00 Dante network card is compatible with ESP-00 II, ESP-00 and ESP-88 processors.
