Capitol Studios Hosts Sessions for Robert Cray’s Upcoming Project with Producer Steve Jordan

Los Angeles, CA – Capitol Studios, the iconic and state-of-the-art recording facility located in the historic Capitol Tower in Hollywood, California, recently served as the recording facility of choice for guitarist Robert Cray’s upcoming album with producer Steve Jordan. Recording legends Al Schmitt and Niko Bolas served as engineers alongside Capitol Studios’ in-house engineer Steve Genewick. Bernard Fowler and Steve Perry contributed vocals, and Jordan played drums on multiple cuts.

Jordan notes, “Niko and I have been working with Robert for a long time, and it’s something we both look forward to for each and every project. For this record, I had a sound in mind, and I wanted Capitol Studio B for sure. I also wanted the sound of a particular Sam Cooke record. For that, I asked our dear friend, the legendary Al Schmitt, to help us, as he had recorded the Sam Cooke recording I was thinking of. With the addition of Steve Genewick, we had ‘The Dream Team’ behind that beautiful Neve console.”
