– Carl Tatz Design shares the prestigious 29th annual TEC Award for outstanding creative achievement in the Studio Design Project category with Vintage King for the new Vintage King Nashville (VKN) MixRoom™ –
Nashville, TN: Setting a new benchmark for control room design and performance, the revolutionary Carl Tatz Design (CTD) MixRoom™ concept, which pairs the Carl Tatz Signature Series™ acoustic modules by Auralex with the unrivaled accuracy of the PhantomFocus™ System monitor tuning protocol, has won the 2014 TEC Award for outstanding creative achievement in the Studio Design Project category for its new Vintage King Nashville (VKN) control room/show room installation.
“The Vintage King Nashville CTD MixRoom has been an absolute success with our customers since day one,” comments Chad Evans, VKN national sales rep. “With the TEC Award, it gives us great satisfaction to see that our peers recognize it as well. Hats off to Carl Tatz Design for making it a reality.”
The project was very much a team effort due to the very tight time constraints and its unique application of being a MixRoom as well as a retail show room. Everyone involved, from Vintage King personnel to Sound Construction and Supply for the custom designed desk, SkinnyFish Studio Services for the wiring, all the gear manufacturers and the Carl Tatz Design craftsmen, helped to facilitate its completion in time for the grand opening party coinciding with the annual Nashville Audio Engineer Week and Audio Masters Golf Tournament.
“We’re very grateful to the TEC Award foundation for selecting us from among the other highly qualified nominees for this honor, and we’re thankful to Vintage King for choosing us to design their beautiful Nashville facility,” states Carl Tatz, principal of the Carl Tatz Design LLC firm and creator of the PhantomFocus System.
“Congratulations to you Carl. Thank you!! We appreciate your willingness to have faith in the project,” stated Andrew Nehra, Vintage King co-owner.
