Chris Theberge, Founding Member of Grammy-Nominated Groove Collective, Launches Boutique Mixing, Production, and Recording Studios in Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY, January 31, 2011 – Theberge Music Works, Inc. (TMW), a music production company and provider of music for events for over 15 years, has opened a boutique NYC recording studio on Manhattan’s Upper West Side under the name Music Works NYC [http://www.musicworksnyc.com].

On-going launch events have featured a jam session led by percussion royalty Giovanni Hidalgo, as well as appearances by Grammy winner and world music icon Youssou N’Dour and his protege Aurelio Martinez. Current sessions include visiting UK production whiz Deewaan (Lady Gaga “The Remix Album”) who just finished producing an album by up-and-comer reggae/pop artist Nando, celebrity voice-overs, and currently, pioneer engineer Carlos “C12â€? Bess (WuTang Clan) is mixing a world music featuring a who’s who of jazz and world music artists.

Past and current TMW clients include Discovery Networks, Harvard University, Lifetime

Television, and Archon Asia. The facility is the vision of TMW founder, Chris Theberge, founding member of GRAMMY-nominated contemporary Jazz group Groove Collective, and a recording artist with 20 years of music industry experience including albums on Warner, Universal and Savoy and performances at Montreaux, North Sea, Red Rocks, WOMAD, Mount Fuji and Blue Notes New York, Milan and Tokyo. Theberge, who just finished serving on the Rolex Mentor Protege Initiative panel, is a voting member of the Recording Academy (The National Academy of Recording Arts And Sciences) (NARAS), which presents the GRAMMY Awards and is an artist endorser for instrument manufacturer Latin Percussion .

Located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Music Works NYC was designed by platinum engineer/consultant Christos Tsantillis (50 Cent, Patti LaBelle, The Roots, Diddy) and built by Michigan-based custom studio builder Ken Capton (Eminem, Kid Rock).
